Mud

We got a big rain storm a few days ago and it is just now drying out. When it rains here even a little bit it turns into a mud pit, and when it rains most of the night and next day, it's just an unbelievable mess. As I've said before, the mud is more like glue than traditional mud. Actually there are several types, the glue mud, and then the melted chocolate milk shake mud, which is mostly what covers the roads.

While working at one of the sites one of the bosses came to get us to help get a truck unstuck, so we went out thinking we'd just need to push/pull a little Nissan truck or something, but this 18-wheeler is what had gotten stuck. He tried to do a U-turn on a tiny road and went through the mud but didn't come out. So we found some folks with a huge front-end loader and got them to pull it out.

It's not that exciting, sorry. I was hoping the chain would break or the truck would somehow catch on fire inexplicably or the front axle would just fall off, but none of that happened. If it had though, I would have video taped it and you would be watching it now. So just imagine that happened.
